My dil Astara is slightly crazy i think lol. She told me recently she saw a pic of someone in the us wearing a tardis hat and she wanted matching ones for herself and her soon to be born baby... This is the one she sent me a link to.

My oh and the boys laughed and said thats nothing like it so i had to come up with my own .

Well i was recently fortunate enough to take part in the button challenge at crafty ribbons challenge blog

Here are my goodies

This was my first attempt as i had the ice cream collection of buttons. I stitched this teddy on the beach . The buttons in the flowers were attatched with glitter glue and you can just see it sparkle through the button holes.

I remembered seeing something like this on a blog ages ago and it was this one . Taking my inspiration from this and using card and flower shapes and ribbon from craftwork cards i made this and it got many admiring glances before i posted it . Buttons from craftyribbons.

This one was done with my big sister stamp from sugar nellie and my nesties . Flowers from craftwork cards buttons from craftyribbons.

I have been stitching this for the outlaws and sods law i ran out of thread with 2 letters to go. None available locally and when i ordered it online i had an email saying out of stock till monday oh well you can see it as is. just needs the 2 letters and washing and framing.

Yesterday was the 1st anniversary of carly's cochlear implant operation the 16th feb is the anniversary of her switch on so we had a little party for her . Kaitlyn told her teacher she was going to a happy new ear party and the teacher couldn't stop laughing . It's amazing what a huge difference such small pieces of technology have made to carly's life and we can't thank her surgeon enough for all he's done her scars aren't even visable. So we had a really happy day.
Today we are on the flip side of the coin my youngest brother should have been 46 today but unfortunately 6 and a half years ago he was found dead. So today is a little more sober than yesterday . so Mel wherever you are RIP little bro . Love and miss you more than you'd ever know.

Sammi from janettes design team suggested a card drive . It's a fab idea and we will be absolutely delighted. Janette from stamping with the dragon/ Dragons den designed us a fab snail and then a super xmas one they are so cute. The digis can either be bought from me for 1.50 each or from here . Carly announced on friday that her dolly mary was cold cos she needs a coat so her mum looked at dolls clothes and nearly choked at the prices. So i looked in the craft room and found my long packed away knitting needles. I bought some wool on saturday and started knitting saturday night here's what i've got so far . 1 pram suit with bobble hat , 1 pair of knickers and matching vest , 1 dress with matching shoes/socks and headband , 1 coat with matching bonnet , all waiting for ribbons and buttons on their way from ebay also nearly finished an old fashioned full length nightie and mop cap.lol. don't know what carly will think.

Kaitlyn was off school again today due to the snow and she wanted to make something. We had a hunt around the craft room and found a wooden wreath with butterflies and flowers that we got in hobbycraft ages ago. So we coloured it in with promarkers then glued parts of it and glittered it.

As all my lovely friends know we have been busy fundraising for the ear trust . The lovely janette from stamping dragon designs who designed our snail has been wonderful. One of the lovely ladies in her design team suggested we have a card drive so that all the people especially the children who use the implant service can have a special card. Ear Trust

As most of my blogger friends know my darling grandaughter carly who's 3 is profoundly deaf. She had a cochlear implant op in jan 2010 and it has changed her life completely. She can now hear as well as you or me with her implants in. I wanted to do something to thank the implant centre and Chris Raine the amazing surgeon who did so much for her. I had no idea where to start but the lovely Dragonllew asked her friend janette from stamping dragon designs if she could help and she did us an amazing snail digi which she has kindly given us permission to sell to fundraise . Janette also did our fab badge and she also did me a fab christmas version too. Both versions are available to buy for 1.50 each from me .If you wouldn't mind then i'd like paypal gift then we don't pay fees . I have now added a donate button in my sidebar to make donating easier . Please state whether you'd like the santa snail or normal. Here are a few examples of what i've done with them so far

Me being me bought 2 boxes of 12 thought they'd be great in the craft room for card candy and other little bits and pieces . Think i'll have to get more they'll be great filled with sweets or whatever to sell . Think they're about 3 inches tall will measure them .
They also had poncho towels on offer at 1.99 instead of 3.99 my store only had 4 left so i bought them all i got dora , thomas the tank, cars , and a disney princess one. will add pics. They also had some cute mini fleece blankets for 99p in toy story and dora.

Here is the beautiful blanket that tina aka artydoll sent me . It is gorgeous beautiful colours and very very soft. My darling grandaughter carly monkey was staying that day she helped me open it then swiped it and sat saying carly carly's . It went home with her and to a beach party it's been everywhere since and is very well loved. When i told her it was mine she said no carly carly's and won't let me touch it .
The Koala bear is the gift carly got from the implant company when they did her op and that goes everywhere with her too.

Mr richards is Kaitlyn's singing teacher and when she first started nursery she wouldn't even open her mouth to sing. Now she sings loud and proud and sings anywhere and everywhere and is always telling us all about him . He has helped her gain in confidence enormously. She bought him a lion and some nivea for men minis and we made him a note book , a seed card and a little bag of football goodies.

Well here is an update on the purple ufo.This is where i was up to on monday . It's getting there but i can't wait to finish it i hate it. My hubby said if you stitch for pleasure why stitch something you hate . Couldn't answer that one. It was a gift from my mother a few years ago and i was quite shocked to actually recieve anything so thought i'd stitch it.

Just for gail here is my cross stitch ufo. My mum bought it for me several years ago and i stitched the front for the notebook and the centre panel on the picture but all that purple sent me loopy ok loopier so i haven't touched it since.
